ABOUT RUSTY
I am Russell O. “Rusty” Wooton, and I am running for Raleigh County Circuit Judge. I received my education in Raleigh County, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1996. I obtained my undergraduate degree from West Virginia University in 2001 and later earned my law degree from the WVU College of Law in 2004. For the past 19 years, I have been practicing law alongside my family in Raleigh County.
As a husband to my wonderful wife, Michelle, and a father to two incredible children, Katelyn and Robert, I am deeply committed to our community. I actively volunteer as a coach at the Beckley Little League, as well as coach basketball at the YMCA. Additionally, I lead summer league teams for girls’ basketball.
Being a lifelong resident of Raleigh County, I deeply understand our shared values. These values were instilled in me by my mother and father and have been further developed during my time practicing law. It is often said by everyone who grew up with us that you always had a place to eat and were welcomed at the Wooton’s house. My commitment to family values drives me to approach all matters with fairness and ensure that justice is served with compassion.
